Thank you for registering for our conference, ‘Shifting Power in Educational Aid: Knowledges, violence and justice’. We cannot wait to welcome you to the event! This page contains essential information about the conference, including instructions on how to use the conference platform.

TIME ZONE OF THE CONFERENCE: The official timezone of the conference is London GMT. Please note, however, that the conference schedule on Zoom will appear in the timezone of your browser/computer.

ATTENDING THE CONFERENCE: All sessions will be hosted on ‘Zoom Events’, which is a new service from Zoom. ‘Zoom Events’ works differently from ‘Zoom Webinar’ and ‘Zoom Meetings’, so we have made a video explaining registration and access. Please test the platform ahead of the conference, as our small team will have limited capacity to support with technical issues during the event. The video is available at

OPENING EVENT: The conference officially begins on Dec 1st at 4:30PM GMT with a session titled, How can we turn talk into action? Imagining a more just approach to humanitarian education aid. Join the founding members of CEDE! as we introduce the collective and conference. We'll discuss the motivations and values behind our work by sharing our own stories, experiences, concerns and hopes regarding education aid during times of crisis. We'll also spotlight the voices of colleagues who will be presenting over the coming two weeks before opening up for reflection and discussion with those attending.

ANONYMOUS SURVEY ON INEQUALITY AND INJUSTICE IN AID: We welcome all attendees to take our anonymous survey on personal experiences of injustice, inequality and violence in humanitarian aid. The survey is intended as an outlet for experiences or opinions that conference participants do not feel comfortable sharing otherwise. More information at
